Tom Dehlinger, Owner and Winemaker
Founder Tom Dehlinger leads the company with his unwavering pursuit for quality and his meticulous approach to winemaking and grape growing. After he finished his undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley in biochemistry in the late 1960s, Tom studied Viticulture and Enology at UC Davis when the program was just being established. After jobs at Beringer and Hanzell, Tom founded Dehlinger Winery in Sonoma County in 1975. It was a time when the Russian River Valley appellation had not yet been established and Pinot Noir and Chardonnay was almost non-existent in the area.
